Delete TweakBox

Right now, we are in the middle of a jailbreak drought and it’s not looking like ending anytime soon. This leaves the jailbreak community desperately trying to find ways to get their favorite Cydia apps and tweaks onto their devices without installing a jailbreak first. The answer has been found, an app installer called TweakBox that provides similar features to what Cydia gives us but on a more basic level. You can download tweaks to modify your favorite apps, download paid apps and even download modified versions of your favorite games.

Method 3: Restore to Factory Settings

Doing this will remove all your data and all your settings, not just TweakBox, restoring your device to the most up to date version of the iOS firmware:

  1. You need to make sure you are running the latest iTunes version
  2. Next, back your data up through iTunes and iCloud
  3. Now unlock your iOS device and disable Find My iPhone/iPad, whichever applies. It can easily be enabled again later
  4. Launch iTunes and plug your device into your computer
  5. If you need to, type your passcode on your device and a message will appear asking if you Trust This Computer – tap Yes
  6. If you have two or more devices registered through iTunes, click the name of the one you are restoring
  7. Now click on Restore and then Restore to confirm
  8. Wait while iTunes restores your iOS device to factory settings, removing TweakBox from your device and updating it to the latest firmware
  9. When your iPhone or iPad has rebooted and is at the Hello screen, you can set it up how you want it

Method 4: Restoring From an iTunes Backup

One last way to remove TweakBox from your iPhone or iPad is to restore your device using one of your iTunes backups:

  1. Launch iTunes on your computer and plug your device into the computer
  2. Input your passcode if you need to and when the popup message appears, click Yes you Trust This Computer
  3. Click on the name of the connected device (only applies if you have more than one registered device)
  4. Click on Restore Backup and you will see a list of all your backups in iTunes
  5. Pick the one you want to restore to and click it; Click Restore
  6. Leave your device to restore from your chosen iTunes backup
  7. If asked to during the restore, input your password
  8. Leave things be until the restore process has completed – do NOT unplug your device until it has finished because it cant sync with your computer if you do
  9. When the restore has finished completely disconnect your device and begin using it

Why You Should Give TweakBox a Chance :

There are many great reasons to try TweakBox [ read about ] ; although it isn’t quite the same as Cydia it does offer a half decent alternative while we wait for a new jailbreak. Some of the reasons why you should try TweakBox include:

  • No jailbreak required
  • Easy to install
  • Easy to delete
  • No need to worry about the safety of your warranty
  • Plenty of paid and premium apps to choose from
  • Downloads third-party apps
  • Downloads modified iOS store apps
  • Much more besides

Instead of fretting over the lack of a current jailbreak, make the most of TweakBox and download as many apps, tweaks and games as you can. While it isn’t as comprehensive as Cydia it is a really good alternative.
